SNEAK PEAK! Holiday Mini Paisley Prints 3

Share

Hi Stampin' Friends!
Are you ready for another project using the Paisley Prints stamp set (a new stamp set that will be available in the upcoming Holiday Mini)?  This set is so versatile! I really had a lot of fun working with it for the Convention display boards.

To create this treat box, I used one of my favorite Big Shot dies, the Fancy Favor box and then dressed up the front of it using some of my favorite colors: Baja Breeze, Certainly Celery, and So Saffron.  The box itself is the new Cajun Craze.  I am just happy as a clam incorporating Baja Breeze into my projects again!!  I sure missed it, and am SO HAPPY about the Color Renovation!!

Stampin' Recipe:
Stamps: Paisley Prints, Fabulous Phrases
Ink: Cajun Craze, Early Espresso
Paper: Cajun Craze, Baja Breeze, Certainly Celery, Crumb Cake, Whisper White
Tools: Big Shot (of course!! haha), Scallop Circles #2 die, Circle Scissor Plus, Full Heart Punch
Embellishments: Designer Buttons, Linen Thread, Clips Assortment

Happy Stampin'!!

Artisan Award Blog Hop: Day 5

Share
Today's card is my only re-make of an earlier card.  I stepped it up by adding rhinestones, changing my color scheme, and using a cool little trick to "glitter-fy" the sentiment.  I'm not sure if you can see the sparkle on the sentiment, but my upline taught me a cool technique a long time ago to be able to emboss over the ink color of your choice.  Ink your stamp in versamark first, then your ink color, and stamp.  The add your embossing powder and heat set.  I used iridescent ice for this card.  Isn't that a nifty trick to know??

Artisan Award Blog Hop: Day 4

Share
Wow, here we are at Day 4, already!  It seems like this week is just flying by.  Have you enjoyed what you've seen?

This accordian card was inspired by my little nephew, Owen, who was born in October (he's a fraternal twin!).  It is a birth announcement with a pull-out info card.  Of course, for the contest, I could only make one card, so I chose the nephew with the shorter name.  I hope Caleb doesn't mind too much. :)

2010-11 Artisan Award-Winning Projects Blog Hop

Share
Welcome to our Artisan Award-winning Projects Blog Hop!  We are so excited to share our projects with you!  It still makes me giddy every time I hear someone mention the Artisan Award, it is just unbelievable that I actually won!  Thank you so much for encouraging me to enter and supporting me. It means the world to me.

Each weekday (M-F) for the next two weeks, we will be posting a new project, starting with our cards, then our scrapbook pages, and finally our 3-D items.  I hope you have fun checking out our projects (I know I can't wait to see my fellow winners projects, too!)

My first card is loaded with accessories.  I fell in love with so many of the accessories in the 2009-2010 Idea Book & Catalog, and when I decided to enter the Artisan Award contest, it gave me the perfect excuse to buy all of them. And then, I just couldn't decide what to use, so I had to use them all, of course!  :) I will even admit I caught myself humming Julie Andrews' "A few of my favorite things" when I was working on this card. Haha, I know, someone call the nerd patrol!

Stamps: Great Friend, Sprinkles (retired)

Paper: Basic Gray, Bordering Blue (retired), Rose Red, Old Olive, Whisper White, So Saffron

Ink: Basic Gray, Basic Gray Marker, Old Olive Marker, Rose Red Marker, Versamark

Tools: 1-3/4” Circle Punch, Big Shot, Hearts and Brackets Die

Embellishments: Double Stitched Rose Red Ribbon (retired), Clips Assortment, Flower Brads, Basic Gray Corduroy Buttons (retired), Linen Thread, Elementary Ribbon Originals (retired)

Sarah Sagert, a fellow Artisan Award Winner, does not have a blog but wanted to share her projects with you, as well, and asked me to post her projects along with mine.   Thanks, Sarah, for sharing your work with us! Here is her first card for the hop:

I just love all of the texture and detail in her card.  Check out the grass; can you believe all the little snipping she did?

Now, get ready to hop over to Elizabeth Price's Blog, Seeing Ink Spots. I will be there right behind you, cuz I can't wait to see what she has created!  Before you go, let me know what you think of my project and leave me a comment, I love to hear from you.  :)

Adorable Tote

Share
Things are definitely crazy around here getting ready for Stampin' Up!'s convention! I am so excited and can't wait to go!!

Today, I just wanted to share with you this adorable Tote my upline, Julie Shaw, made for everyone in our group. Isn't she sweet??? It's to put all our swap cards in so we have them handy at Convention. Awww! I love it! It is made using the scallop square die and the Big Shot. I know, I am just thinking of all the cute totes I could be making!!

Ok, back to convention...I am definitely going to be posting pictures of all the fun projects I'll be doing, pictures of the sample boards, and even sneak peaks of my Artisan projects, so be sure to come back soon!

Tart & Tangy Summer Birthday Card

Share
ANNOUNCEMENT: The Artisan's are at it again!  Come see the 2010-11 Award-winning projects for a 2 week blog hop!  Starts Monday, August 2nd, at 10AM EDT.

Today's card is summer-inspired. I just love summer time and look forward to it so much.  I enjoyed fireworks and fried food for the 4th while celebrating our Independence Day, next weekend I am headed out of town for a little get-away in Wyoming filled with boating, 4-wheeling, and lots of star-gazing.  What's not to love about summer??

This is a card we will be making in our card club this month (contact me if you'd like to come!).  I used two techniques you might like to know about.  The first is called "Rock n' Roll" (don't you love that name for a stampin technique??).  I used that technique to create the duo color combo on the orange slices by first inking my stamp in Daffodil Delight ink, and then rolling the edges of the image in the pumpkin pie ink.  Easy!

The second technique is more of a "cheat".  I didn't have anything but a couple of pumpkin pie ribbon scraps hanging around, so I cheated and used a strip of 1/4" pumpkin pie cardstock and then adhered just the bow on top of that strip.  I'll bet you didn't even notice!  It's a great technique to use to help you use up those cardstock scraps AND ribbon scraps!

Ready to have some Stampin' fun?? CLICK HERE to go to my Stampin' Up! website to order any of the supplies you need, item numbers are listed below under "Stampin' Supplies".

Need a hard copy of the catalog to call your own?? Email me and get the 2009-2010 Idea Book & Catalog for just $9.95.

PLAY like you mean it

Share

Today's project is a double-page scrapbook layout featuring "Bugs & Kisses" stamp set.  The Bugs & Kisses stamp set is an "oldie but goodie".  Every year when the new catalog is released, I wait to see if this set is going to make it another round.  It sure did!  I love this set, and I'm so happy we get to keep it in the catalog for at least one more year.  Take a look and see what I mean!  Isn't it cute??

I created the "Play" title using the Simple Letters Alphabet Dies (115960) and Mr. Big (113439).  I know, I know, I never make anything without the Big Shot anymore!  I can't help it if the Big Shot is so fabulous!  That is one purchase I will never regret.   I used the Crimper Tool (101618) to add some whimsical, playful texture to the letters.

I agaub used the Big Shot and Top Note die for the decorative accent here on the frame shown here. I love to tuck a Top Note under the corner of journaling or photo frames for a little extra "something."

Here's a fun little trick to try using the Circle Circus stamp set: create your own DSP (Designer Series Paper) by stamping a pattern on white cardstock.  That's how I made the "L" in "Play" and this photo corner really POP! Helpful Hint: Photo corners are a snap with the Photo corners punch (119878)

Artisans' Patriotic Blog Hop!!

Share

Welcome to the 2010-11 Artisan Award Winner's Patriotic Blog Hop!! (I'm still so excited every time I hear someone say "Artisan Award" or look at my letter from Stampin' Up!). I'm so glad you could join us for our hop! Don't forget to leave lots of comments along the way, we all love to feel loved, don' we? We have been busy creating some fun patriotic projects just in time for the Independence Day and Canada Day, so I hope you enjoy.

For my project today, I decided to create a banner to add a little "stars and stripes" to my patriotic home decor. I hung it just above the fireplace so it's sure to let all our guests know we are excited to celebrate Independence Day. I LOVE fireworks, and I'm a sucker for summer-vendor-cart food, so you can imagine how much I'm really looking forward to this weekend! Fried food, here I come!

BUT, that's not the only reason I'm looking forward to this weekend...did you know Stampin' Up!'s brand new Idea Book & catalog is coming out on Thursday, July 1st??? Eeeeee!! I'm doubly excited now!! How would you like to have a copy to call your own?? Just CLICK HERE to email me and reserve your copy for 50% off! You just pay $5 plus $4.95 shipping. (Regular price is $9.95 plus $6.95 shipping). BUT, this offer is only good through July 4th!

Creating the Pennants for this banner was soooo easy! I just did a quick roll through the Big Shot (113439) with the Pennant Banner die (113483), and voila! I had a banner in no time! Want to see more projects using the Big Shot? CLICK HERE!

Another fave product of mine I used on this banner is the Chunky Essentials Glitter (108797). I love how big and chunky the glitter is, it is really eye-catching! Helpful Hint: Glitter is not a mess to be feared! When you use the Powder Pal (102197) it stays in the tray and goes right back in the jar with no mess at all.

Thank you so much for stopping by my blog! Have fun on the hop! Oh, and don't forget to leave me a comment (I LOVE them!) :)

The next blog on the hop is the talented Andrea Munro's Blog, "Hiding Out in my Craft Room"

True Love Scrapbook Pages

Share
Well, Valentine's Day has come and gone, so now it's time to scrapbook all those pics with your sweetie! Here are some V-day pages I made to capture all those cutie-pie moments.p> Yes, I know, I am having a full on paper-love-affair with Mr. Big, but just look at those cute brackets!!! Can you blame me?? These come from the "Hearts and Brackets" originals die (115955). And the fun with Mr. Big doesn't stop there, the letters for my title come from the Simple Alphabet set of Bigz dies.

In the next two photos, you'll notice some texture-embossed polka dots for extra detail. And YES, Mr. Big did that, too! I just used the polka dot embossing folder (117335) featured in the Occasions Mini for just $7.95!! Do you have a copy of the Occasions Mini, yet?? If not, email me and get a copy for FREE! Helpful Hint: I also used a stampin' sponge and sponged on a little ink to really make those dots pop! The adorable DSP is the Sending Love Specialty Designer Series Paper (117153) and I stamped the background images using the "With All My Heart" stamp set (118134 wood-mount, 118623 clear mount), both from the Occasions Mini, as well!

Things I love... U!

Share
Stampin' Up! announced a need for "event display stampers", so I decided to apply... I am waiting to hear back so keep your fingers crossed for me!

They asked applicants to submit 3 cards, one 6x6 scrapbook page, and one 8.5x11 scrapbook page. Today's project is the 8.5x11 scrapbook page I sent in... What do you think??

This page reminds me so much of my mother-in-law (god bless her!). She was so excited when my husband and I got engaged, she had us get "dressed up" and took us in the backyard for a 150+ picture photo shoot. So cute of her! So many of those pics are my favorites of us to this day. She passed away in 2006, and we miss her so much.

I'll point out a few of my faves on this page...I used the Bella Bleu DSP (113974) (so gorgeous!), the new Very Vanilla satin ribbon (117291)(I am SO in love with all the new colors for satin ribbon!), and a half-back pearl from the pretties kit (109114).

Ready to have some Stampin' fun?? All of the supplies I used are listed below. Just CLICK HERE to go to my Stampin' Up! website to order any of the supplies you need. Once you get there, click on "Shop Now" in the upper right hand corner, and use the item numbers listed below.

Still have your eye on an Idea Book & Catalog?? Email me and get the 2009-2010 Idea Book & Catalog for just $9.95.

Do you have your FREE copy of the Occasions Mini catalog, yet?? Email me, and your copy will be on its way today!

Happy Stampin!
~Heather

Beautiful Butterflies

Share
Here's a card with lots of sources of inspiration! Our late night stampers group (http://groups.yahoo.com/group/StampinUpLNStampers) challenge this week is to create a project with butterflies, I used the Mojo Monday sketch challenge, and was inspired by Mary Fish's "Heart" card also featured on the Mojo Monday page. The orange and black remind me of Monarch butterflies, and so I was also inspired by Mother Nature. :)

One of my favorite new items in the Occasions Mini catalog is the Beautiful Wings Embosslit (118138). You just run it through your Big Shot and voila! 5 mini butterflies are fluttering around your paper craft room! I used the embosslit to create all the mini butterflies in my card, and I also used the Beautiful Butterflies Die to create the larger butterfly at the bottom of the card. Boy, Mr. Big has done it again! ;)

Valentines Door Hanger

Share
I don't have much blogging time today, but I want to share this Valentine's Door Hanger with you, so you are going to get a "quickie" version of this project. :)

I used 4x4 chipboard coasters and mod-podged on designer paper from the NEW Sweet Pea Paper stack, 48 sheets, 2 ea of 24 double-sided designs for just $24.95!

I am still just absolutely LOVIN' that chunky, striped ribbon. I just want to use it on everything! It was perfect for this project to string it through each coaster. Helpful Hint: Punching through chipboard is "no sweat" with the Crop-A-Dile!

I loaded up this project with fun embellishments: sweet pea stitched felt, NEW Sending Love epoxy brads, Taffeta ribbon, and a heart punched from very vanilla cardstock.

Ready to have some Stampin' fun?? All of the supplies I used are listed below. Just CLICK HERE to go to my Stampin' Up! website to order any of the supplies you need. Once you get there, click on "Shop Now" in the upper right hand corner, and use the item numbers listed below.

Ribbon Butterflies

Share
It's time for a new Late Night Stampers weekly challenge! This week, the challenge is to get creative with ribbon.

Stampin' Tips:
-I used a little linen thread to cinch together scraps of ribbon to create lovely butterflies.
-The Big Shot and Little Leaves Sizzlit make it a snap to add a some greenery to any card.
-I love to layer the Curly Label punch and Word Window punch together, like I did for the greeting on this card. Hint: Stamp first, punch second! When you stamp your greeting first, it is easy to center and straighten out the image so it looks perfectly stamped every time!
-The Circle Scissor Plus is your new best friend when it comes to circle frames! Hint: use the glass mat for best results.

Ready to have some Stampin' fun?? All of the supplies I used are listed below. Just CLICK HERE to go to my Stampin' Up! website to order any of the supplies you need. Once you get there, click on "Shop Now" in the upper right hand corner.
