Halloween (Belated!)

Share
Ok, ok, I know this is ridiculously late to be posting Halloween projects, but I just love how these turned out and didn't have a chance to get them posted.  Please forgive me, my stampin' buddies!!  :)

These are the projects I did for my Halloween class back in early October and I thought you might like to see them, anyway, even if 'tis the season to be jolly rather than scary!

Lately, I've been working on Leadership display board samples, and I just can't wait until I can post those for you!!  Watch for them in mid-January.

I hope you have had a chance to take advantage of all the great sales going on RIGHT NOW!  The online spectacular has been fabulous, and don't forget about the amazing 50% off Starter Kit!! Both of these huge sales end TODAY (Nov 30th).

Happy Stampin'!!

Have you checked out Stampin' Up!'s line of Vinyl Decor??  Decor Elements vinyls are so much fun and really easy to use-I decorated my mirror and glass pitcher in less than five minutes!  I used the "Spooky Things" vinyls (120909, $14.95) in the Holiday Mini Catalog, and still have lots of images left over to use for more Halloween decorating!

Want to see more Decor Elements vinyls??  Click here to check out the Definitely Decorative Catalog!

Have a Spooky Halloween!

Share

Ummm, ya, I just can't stop with the Halloween projects...  Enjoy!

A few tips:
-Heat Emboss with white craft ink and white embossing powder to make those background spider webs really "Pop"!
-To make the broom head, find something about the size you want the "sticks" and wrap your linen thread around it over and over until you get the thickness you'd like.  Then trim the ends (loops).
-I like to use the tip of my closed scissors to pick up and place the small black jewels.  So much easier than trying to do it with fingers!

Stampin' Recipe:
Stamps: Wicked Cool
Paper: Rich Razzleberry, Old Olive, Basic Black, Cajun Craze, Whisper White
Ink: Cajun Craze Classic Stampin' Pad
Tools: Scallop Edge Punch, Heat Embossing Tool,
Embellishments: Black Jewels, Lace Trim, 1/8" Black Taffeta, Chunky Essentials Glitter, Antique Brads, Rhinestone Jewels, Linen Thread

Happy Stampin'!!

House of Haunts Scrapbook Pages

Share
Whew! Last week was C.R.A.Z.Y (as evidenced by my lonely blog!). Good thing I had a whole week of vacaying in St. George, UT to un-crazy. :) Woo-hoo! Well, I'm back now and it's time to start getting creative again. Today's post features Halloween scrapbook pages I did for my October scrapbook club. They loved them! My favorite feature of these spooky pages is the glittery glammed-up haunted house from the "House of Haunts" (111574) stamp set. To get that glittery-glam, use the Iridescent Ice Embossing Powder (101477). Tip: A Powder Pal (102197) will keep your workspace neat and save glitter, too! Helpful Hint: Use your white gel pen (105021) to set those windows aglow. A little bit of ribbon detailing adds a lot of fun! Helpful Hint: Use your glue runner to glue the ribbon in place. Nothing worse than trying to staple renegade ribbon strands! ;)

Ghouls and Goblins

Share

The Sweet Centers stamp set is SAH-Weet! ~smile~ I'm totally diggin' it! It is super fun to use with the new Sweet Treat cups (like I did in this yummy sample) or by itself like in today's card. I love how versatile it is, it can be used for many occasions such as Halloween, Valentine's Day, Kid's Birthdays, and for All-Occasions cards. I think this stamp set is going to be on my "I can never give you up!" stamp set list because it will be one of those sets that just comes in handy all the time. ~smile~

Did you know the large center of the Sweet Centers stamped images fits perfectly with your 1-3/4" circle punch? For today's card, I punched out the middle of the stamped image, and then I stamped again on whisper white, and punched out the greeting with the 1-1/4" circle punch. Helpful Hint: Multi-colored stamped images are a snap when you use Stampin' Write markers to color directly on your rubber stamp before stamping your image on card stock.

I hope you are nice and cozy with your copy of the Holiday Mini Catalog, but if not, we can fix that in a jiffy! Just email me, and I will put your FREE copy in the mail today! Or, you can download the Mini Catalog HERE.

House of Haunts

Share
Now that is one spooky haunted house! To get your ~spook~ on:
  • Stamp image in basic black ink (I like basic black craft ink instead of classic black, pour on crystal clear embossing powder, and set with the heat tool
  • Sponge white ink around house, and remove excess from house with a q-tip
  • Add some spook-appeal to the windows by filling in the windows with your white gel pen (aka "glow-maker")

Happy Halloween Party Blowers!

Share
Today has been out of this world CRAZY! Ever have days like those?? I know you do, but I have had this idea floating around in my head since last week, and just haven't had a chance to put it together. I finally said, "Self, today is the day!"

I didn't have time to put together a tutorial, so I will work on that the next couple of days, but I wanted to enter these into Shelli's Creative challenge, and today is the last day, so I knew it was now or never to get this project posted! :) I hope you will be patient with me to get the tutorial up. It is such a snap! Once I finally got it figured out, it only takes about 10-15 minutes to get these put together, so it is a definite must-make for Halloween parties this year!

Stay tuned, because TOMORROW is the big release of the Holiday Mini-catalog and you will want to see all the cute items in there!! I will have it available for download right at 12:01 AM, so come back soon.

Stamps-Ink-Paper Dracula

Share

This devishly handsome fellow is dying to accompany you this Halloween Eve... all you will need is a little black card stock and "Cast-A-Spell" DSP! He will hold trick-or-treating candy, make fantastic Halloween party favors, and even spook up your Halloween decor. But, watch out! He bites. :)

When Shelli's creative challenge was to use only "Stamps-ink-paper" I knew my favorite Japanese art, origami, would come in handy! Helpful Hint: I found a fantastic tutorial on creating Count Dracula's face HERE.

His dashingly scary facial features were all created using punches:
Eyebrows: Photo corners punch
Eyes: 3/4" circle punch (cut in half)
Nose: Heart-to-heart punch (cut in half and the top snipped off)
Mouth: Wide Oval punch
Teeth: Small Star punch (points trimmed off and used as fangs, I used the real red marker to add some blood!)

UPDATE: One of my reader's asked about how I made the box Dracula is attached to, so I made a template! Check it out:
Template for Basic Box
