I am so excited it is Holiday season already!!  I have already started making projects for decorations around my house for Christmas (of course, I just BARELY put up a few Thanksgiving decorations...)  Anyway, because it's not "full-blown" Christmas-time, yet, I thought I would do a non-traditional color combo for this card, inspired by Andrea Munro's gift tag HERE

I don't know about you, but I ALWAYS need masculine birthday cards! They are really easy to make because they just need a little hardware, and definitely NO bows.  :)  Haha, ok, maybe SOMEtimes they could use a bow-tie.

A CASE from the October Stampin' Success cover~I love the demonstrator magazine!!  So many fabulous ideas!

Happy Stampin'!!!

Thanks So Much Fancy Favor Box

Share
This clean and simple "Thank You" treat box is such a snap to make when you use the fancy favor bigz xl die (115965). The Big Shot does all the "heavy cutting" for you! Helpful Hint: When using a bigz xl die, you will need the extended cutting pads (113478) (don't forget them the first time like I did! hehe. )

The trendy trees stamp set (113258) is a really nice set that is easy to use and has a contemporary flair. I love how the leaves turned out on the stamped image of the tree. To achieve this multi-colored look, I used the "thumping" technique. For a tutorial on the thumping technique, click here.

I haven't even had a chance to tell you all about the fantastic weekend I had in St. George with all my Stampin' friends!

For the next few days, I would love to share some of the fantastic projects we made. First up, check out this adorable set of mini cards and greeting card! Don't you LOVE the cute little mini coordinating envelopes??

Isn't this a great color combo? I love Rich Razzleberry, Soft Suede and Very Vanilla together. Fabulous!

These cute cards feature the Falling Leaves (115368) stamp set, and the Bright Blessing Jumbo Wheel (115626). These sets are available in the award-winning Idea Book & Catalog on page 27. Want a copy of the Idea Book all your own?? EMAIL ME for your copy for just $9.95 (free shipping)! You can also download the electronic version HERE.

I made these projects at our annual St. George Creative Stampin' Retreat. How would you like to join us?? Each year, my downline has the opportunity to participate in a full day of Stampin' fun with other demonstrators in our group. Thankful Mojo

Share

It's Mojo time!  For those of you who have been following my blog for a while, you know that Mojo Monday is one of my favorite online sketch challenges.  Here is this week's sketch:

  • To create the fanciful frame I used to dress up my sentiment, just take another look at the Top Note Die...see it?  I simply ran it through my big shot, and then trimmed off the top and bottom with my paper trimmer.
  • The stamped background image comes from the Fresh Cuts set.  I "rocked and rolled" it by first inking my stamp in Crushed Curry ink, and then rolling the edges of the stamp in the Dusty Durange ink pad.  I stamped first on scrap paper and then onto my paper so that it has a lighter color. Helpful Hint: Stamping on scrap paper before you stamp on your paper (without re-inking the stamp) to get a lighter image is called "Stamping Off"
  • Are you loving rouched ribbon as much as I am??  I cut a strip of 1/2" Soft Suede card stock, got it nice and sticky with sticky strip, and then adhered my gathered ribbon to the card stock bit by bit.
  • Those extra large scallops are extra easy to make when you use your 1-3/8" circle punch!  I just punched out circles and adhered to my paper next to each other to create the same look as a large scallop punch.

Ready to have some Stampin' fun?? All of the supplies I used are listed below. Just CLICK HERE to go to my Stampin' Up! website to order any of the supplies you need. Once you get there, click on "Shop Now" in the upper right hand corner, and use the item numbers listed below.

Inspired by Nature Thank You

Share

The "Inspired by Nature" stamp set inspired me to, well, be inspired by nature! And, it didn't hurt that I came across Stampin' B's challenge #15, to use a butterfly on a card or project. Well, if you know anything about me by now, it should be that I love butterflies! ~smile~ I couldn't resist!

Today's card features the Styled Vanilla Hodgepodge Hardware, which adds a touch of class to any card or project. Even better, the styled vanilla hodgepodge hardware is on sale now through July 27th for just $18.99 (Reg. $29.99). Want to find out more about this fantastic sale? Read about the Deal of the Week, and don't forget to check back next Monday for the next one.

  • Scallop borders, like the one shown in today's card, are a snap with Stampin' Up!'s scallop edge punch.
  • Use the paper piercing tool to give a scallop border a "lace-like" appearance
  • The Big Shot creates big, beautiful butterflies so quickly and easily with the "Beautiful Butterflies Bigz Die. I layered two butterflies from the same die.
  • Two vanilla brads add depth to the stacked butterfly die cuts. Helpful Hint: to add a little more depth, use your fingernail to gently curl the wings of the butterflies.
Want to give this project a try? All of the supplies I used are listed below. Just CLICK HERE to go to my Stampin' Up! website to order any of the supplies you need. Once you get there, click on "Shop Now" in the upper right hand corner, and use the item numbers listed below.

Quick and Easy Gift Box

Share
Here's a fun little gift box that pops together in a snap! It is quick and easy because you use die-cuts and punches to do all the heavy-cutting for you!

I used my Scallop Envelope die-cut and my Big Shot to create the sides of the box with the cute scalloped edges. Start with 2 pieces of 4.25" x 5" card stock (this is exactly 1/4 of a sheet of 8.5" by 11" cardstock) and run it through the Big Shot. Next, cut a 2.75" x 12" strip of cardstock. You should end up with the three pieces shown above. With the long edge parallel to the handle of the paper trimmer, score the long piece of cardstock at 2.25", 5.5", 7.75", and 11".

Now, it's time to get sticky!! Sticky-strip, that is! On the "out" part of the envelopes, add sticky strip, as shown. BUT! Don't take the red stuff off, yet.

Next, cut a piece of DSP to 4-1/8" x 2.5". With the long side of the cardstock parallel to the paper trimmer's handle, score it at 7/8". Using the corner rounder punch, round the edges of the box lid, and the edges of the DSP. Adhere the DSP to the long strip of cardstock where the lid is going to be on the interior of the box.

Now it's time to assemble! Carefully match up the edges of the scallop envelopes with the long strip of cardstock. Make sure the score lines match up, too! Remember, once you peel off the sticky strip and adhere, it's not going to come back up!!
After assembling to the point shown above, it is important to punch your window with the 1-1/4" circle punch before assembling any further.
Now that you have your window, stamp "Thank You" on your window sheet using Whisper White or Very Vanilla Craft ink. Helpful Hint: Craft ink takes a long time to dry on its own, so I like to use my Heat Tool to speed things along! After drying your stamped greeting, place a dimensional on each corner of your window sheet on the same side as your stamped image. Adhere to interior of box.
Our next step is to decorate the exterior of our window. Start by punching a 1-3/8" circle in your cardstock. Next, use the scallop circle punch to create a lovely floral frame.
I also wanted to add a touch of yellow to my floral frame, so I did the same procedure with the 1-1/4" circle punch, and then the 1-3/8" circle punch to create the yellow ring that decorates the interior of the flower.
To adhere, I used my two-way glue pen because it is great for "writing" adhesive just where I want it. With such a narrow space to place adhesive, I knew the two-way glue pen would be the perfect tool for this part of my project.
Next, I used my scallop circle punch and paper-piercing tool to create a nice background for the interior of my window, and also a decorative tab for when the gift box is open.
Adhering the tab is a little tricky. Helpful Hint: to get your tab lined up just right, place adhesive on the lid of the box, fold over the front of the box, line up your tab with the orange floral frame on the front of the box, and then press your tab down firmly into the adhesive you've already placed on the front of the lid. Next, I closed up my box and gave it a little polka-dot pizzazz with some of the new In Color Polka Dot Grosgrain ribbon. It's really cool because it is double-sided: one side has dots and the other doesn't! You can use either or both sides!
Want to give this gift box a try? All of the supplies I used are listed below. Just CLICK HERE to go to my Stampin' Up! website to order any of the supplies you need. Once you get there, click on "Shop Now" in the upper right hand corner, and use the item numbers listed below.

Razzlin' Up Monday!

Share

Here is a fun, feminine card using the new Razzleberry Lemonade DSP and the new In Colors! I just couldn't make up my mind which greeting coordinated with the design of the card the best, so I made both! ~smile~

Helpful Hint: When I have a little spare time, I like to make multiples of my favorite versatile cards and leave the area for the greeting blank. Then, when I'm in a pinch for a card, I just stamp the greeting I need for the occasion. What a life-saver! I always have just the perfect card in seconds!

To design this card, I started with the Mojo Monday Sketch for my layout. I used two stamp sets this time: 'Thank you Kindly' OR 'Sincere Salutations' and 'Elegant Thank You'. I just love the flourish of the Elegant Thank You stamp, it's great to dress up corners and frames!

Helpful Hint: This card is fairly simple, but I would definitely suggest using the Stamp-a-ma-jig to place those cute flourishes in the corners. Have you ever tried the Stamp-a-ma-jig?? It is a fantastic tool for getting the placement of your images "just right". Download a .pdf tutorial on using the Stamp-a-ma-jig (101049) HERE.

Want to make this card? Listed below are all the supplies I used to make it. Just CLICK HERE to go to my Stampin' Up! Website, click on "Shop Now" and use the item numbers posted next to the supplies listed. You can shop online anytime, day or night!

Don't forget to check out the Deal of the Week! It only lasts until next Monday at 9:50 AM (MT).

Happy Stampin'!
