The challenge is an inspiration challenge, to create a project inspired this photo from Inhabit Living: I was inspired by the colors and the modern “crisp and clean” look in the photo.

Baby Shower Decorations

Double the Diapers, Double the fun!

I have some exciting news...I'm going to be an auntie! And not once, but twice! My sister-in-law is having twin boys. Poor girl, she's not going to be getting much sleep for a while, but Aunt Heather will be happy to come to play while mom takes a nap (or two)!

We had a family baby shower for her last night, and these cute "Baby's First Year" photo frames are what I made for her. There is a wallet size photo frame for each month of the first year of their lives, so we'll always remember what cute little babies they are.

How do you like that adorable DSP?? Well, get ready...get ready...Those are Sale-A-Bration DSP from last year! Want to know something really cool?? Sale-A-Bration is going to be not 2 months...but 3 WHOLE MONTHS (starting in January 2010). I know you are just as excited as I am!! Stay Tuned!

Animal Stories Baby Card

I popped on by Stampin' B's Design Team blog today for Challenge #17: to make a baby card with no blue or pink! And, this layout may look vaguely familiar...it should! Remember yesterday's Mojo Monday card?? This is the same sketch, except I rotated it the other way.

This adorable little elephant comes from the Animal Stories stamp set (116716), and is framed in 6 scallop circles glued together (love that scallop circle punch!). The frame looks tricky, but really isn't very hard to create using the circle scissor plus (112530) and glass mat (112531)! Here are a few helpful tidbits for you:

• Use the circle scissor plus to create a "template" circle (the size you want your frame to be), and then use it as a guide as you glue your scallop circles together
• To cut out the center of the scallop circle frame, the circle scissor plus will also come in handy. Hint: make sure the scallop circles are all nice and tightly glued together, they will come apart if they are not secure.

How do you like that cute little bow? It is one of my favorite ways of dressing up a card. You can check out my tutorial on this adorable ribbon bow tie here.

I love how the eyelet border punch (113692) can create such a delicate border out of cardstock! It really does give the appearance of lace.

Another nice feature of punches is how easy they make it to create perfectly straight, perfectly centered greetings. Hint: stamp first, punch second! The punch used for the greeting today is the Word Window punch (105090), and then I trimmed the edge off one side. The greeting comes from the Teeny, Tiny wishes stamp set (115370).

Hello Mojo!

It is Monday, and you know what that means! Mojo Monday time! I didn't stick exactly to the sketch, I turned the card lengthwise and re-arranged a couple of elements: This sketch gave me the perfect opportunity to use my Circle Scissor Plus, a fantastic tool for making nested circles up to 6". This tool is a little tricky to get used to at first, but I have all the insider tips for you to make perfect circles every time:

• use a little dotto on your paper to hold it in place while you cut your circles
• spin the wheel around over your paper before cutting to make sure your placement fits the size of circle you want to cut
• the glass mat is an excellent surface to cut on

Today's card is for my cousin, I'm attending her baby shower on Thursday, and I'm so excited for her! It's always fun to have a new baby in the family. When I started to work on a card for her, Tall Tales DSP came to mind. I knew as soon as I saw the NEW Tall Tales Designer Series Paper it was going to be one of my favorite DSP packages. It's so versatile, from adorable animal prints, to cute florals, and masculine stripes, this paper really goes the extra mile!

The photo corners punch makes adding a subtle "something" to corners a snap. I added a chocolate chip photo corner in the upper left side of the card.

I also added some jumbo brads from the Vanilla Styled Hodgepodge Hardware set to the lower right corner of the card. I just love them! I'm not sure it shows in the photo, but they have engraved stars in the centers of the brads. So fun!
